John Baker
Physics / Calculus Teacher / Advisor to the Class of 2013

I was raised in France for 17 years and came back to the United States in 1992. I started to
seriously study mathematics and physics at the age of eleven years old in a little town on the
outskirts of Paris named Limeil Brevannes. I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering
with an emphasis in electrical power and computer architecture from San Francisco State University
in May of 2003.
I worked for the telecommunication industries as a design engineer for three years. I designed
telecommunication networks using AutoCAD software for various firms such as Nextel, Yahoo, Sprint,
and AT&T. Later, I started to pursue my teaching credential in physics at a private university
since I had a great desire to teach and help students become successful in college. I received
my Clear Credential in the field of physics. During the summer of 2011, I worked at Lockheed
Martin Space System as a System Engineer Fellow through IISME for a special project using Matlab
and to bring my skills back to the classroom.
I am currently pursuing a Master in Science in Educational Leadership with a preliminary
administrative credential at National University, a private University, located in San
Jose California.
During my spare time, I spend my time with my wife and dog. We do a lot of hiking and exploration
of the California Coast.
