Teachers, support staff, and administration will be meeting for two professional development days.  No classes will be held.  Classes will resume Monday, October 4, 2010.

Oakland Unity High School seniors are away visiting colleges and universities in the Los Angeles and San Diego area.  Students are visiting UCLA, CSU Northridge, Occidental, USC, SOKA, UCSD (Mr. Castillo’s alma mater), and San Diego State University.  Unity students visit a variety of college campuses during their time at Unity.  The College Tours are designed to give students an exposure to college and universities across the state.

Here is some important information regarding test scores at Unity High School:

• Unity’s API score was 595 for the 2006-2007 school year
• Unity’s API score was 624 (growth of 29 points) for the 2007-2008 school year
• Unity’s API score was 677 (growth of 53 points!) for the 2008-2009 school year
• Unity’s API score was 698 (growth of 21 points!) for the 2009-2010 school year

Since the 2006-2007 school year, our API score has risen over 100 points!  Congratulations to our students, teachers, and staff.
